Places to Visit in Manali

India is a beautiful country and it is rightfully described as unity in diversity as here we get to see all the creations of nature starting from snow clad mountains and white sand beaches to beautiful green forests and temples and monasteries. There many beautiful hill stations on the lap of the gigantic Himalayas and Manali is one of them and is visited by millions of tourists every year. This has led to the growth of Himachal tourism and development of many luxury hotels in Manali. You will come across many Manali resorts when you search for accommodation in Manali and make sure of going for a good one as there are many cheap hotels that are satisfactory in terms of their services.

As for places to see here is the list:

Rohtang Pass:

Seeing Rohtang pass is a must if you are visiting Manali. It is about 51km from the main city but you will get many cars and tourist buses to take you there. If really want to see this pass, you would have to visit between June and November. This is a very important trade route and offers magnificent view of the surroundings. There is the Sonapani glacier and also a twin peak called Gaypan. You would also see the origin of a glacier river named Beas from here which is considered to be sacred for the Hindus.

Rahalla Falls:

The Rohtang Pass lies beyond this fall. It is a beautiful waterfall and is a must visit. You will have a lifetime experience of bathing in the ice cold water of the Himalayas and also if you are looking for some adventure, this is the place to be.

Solang Valley:

If you love skiing, you must visit Solang Valley which is only 14km from Manali. It is a perfect picturesque location for all the shutter bugs and is a great picnic spot as well. Avail any of the winter ski packages from HPTDC to have some great fun during the months of January and February.

Kothi:

This is a beautiful village on the foot of the Rohtang Pass. Located at a height of 2500m, you can enjoy the view of river Beas and the deep gorge created by it.

Naggar:

This is yet another picturesque village near Manali that is worth visiting. Surrounded by forests, this village has many old temples and a museum as well. There is also a photo gallery.

Temples:

Hadimba-Temple-Manali

Apart from the temples in Naggar, there is the famous Hadimba Temple and the Manu temple. There are temples in Jagatsukh as well which is a place only 6 km from Manali. There are caves as well. Vashisht though famous for hot sulphur springs, is home to many temples as well.

Monasteries:

There are numerous Tibetan monasteries in Manali, the Manali Gompa being one. Make sure of visiting them to experience a lovely ambience.
